“Qu’importe le Flacon pourvu qu’on ait l’ivresse” (Alfred de Musset)

This saying seems sadly no longer true.

We live in a world apparently really concerned about recycling. However, packaging is taking more and more of a place in our life.

So much importance is given to it.  It is made beautiful, attractive and seductive, sending us promising and unrealistic messages.

So much effort and money is put into creativity, design and slogans to make us buy.  Once bought they sadly finish up in our garbage without any compassion.

I’m still wondering if the packaging makes the goods great, or if the goods are really great.

This painting ended up in the bin. Until a friend took it out and convinced me to keep it. Sad life for packaging indeed.
